The week 2 match up between Highland and North Royalton had a definite playoff feel, except for the 80 degree humid weather. The Bears started the scoring first when Michael Piazza hit Vincent Koprowski from 31 yards out to put the Bears on top 7-0 early in the first. The two would hook up two more times in the fourth quarter that brought the score to 24-21. The Bears could not get the ball back late in the fourth. Highland end the game in victory formation and a 24-21 victory.
The Hornets were led by Senior Quarterback, Aaron Filips, who threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. With 6:15 left in the 4th, Avery Gerney would hit a 28 yard field goal that would eventually be the difference in the game.
Highland improves to 2-0 on the year and will travel to Brunswick in week 3. North Royalton drops to 1-1 and will travel to Perry in Week 3.
