Berea, OH– Conference play is underway in the southwestern conference and the Berea-Midpark Titans were on display in a dominating win over the visiting Elyria Pioneers 19-7 Friday night in front of a lively crowd of over 1,000 spectators
The Titans offense was led by QB Luke Devins and RB DeAngelo Borders. The duo connected twice for touchdowns 6yds and 27 yds respectively. DeAngelo Borders would add a 4 yd touchdown run and an interception on the defensive side of the ball for good measure in the win. b
The Titans defense was able to smother the visiting Pioneers holding them to only one score all game, a 12 yard run by Lance Glover on the opening drive. The Titans would force two interceptions, each leading to a scoring opportunity. The Titans also forced two turnovers on down situations to stymie any possibility of an Elyria comeback
Elyria falls to 3-1 overall on the season and 0-1 in the Southwestern Conference. The Pioneers will look to rebound next week as they play host to the Avon Eagles (2-2, 0-1).
Berea Midpark improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the Southwestern Conference. The Titans will look to keep the momentum going as they travel to face Avon Lake (4-0, 1-0) next week.
