Hudson, OH- The 5-1 Nordonia Knights came into their week 7 match up with 6-0 Hudson knowing that they were in for a 48 minute slugfest with one of the areas most potent offensive attacks, and a very stingy defense. However thanks to some late game heroics on both sides of the football the Knights were able to hand the Explorers their first loss of the season in a 29-28 road victory Friday night.
Hudson held a 28-22 lead as time was winding down in the fourth quarter, it was clear that Hudson was content to salt the game away by running the ball with RB Aiden Lal. the Explorers were deep in Nordonia territory and looking to put the game out of reach, until the Knight’s forced a fumble and took over on their own 9 yd line with 3:20 remaining. Nordonia would put together a 91 yd scoring drive in less than three minutes which was capped off by QB Mark Wilson connecting with WR Cooper Rusk for the game winning TD from 12 yds out.
Hudson falls to 6-1 overall on the season and 3-1 in the Suburban League National Division. The Explorers were led offensively by QB Jaggar Pallay who threw 3 TDs on the night to WRs Colin Pierce and Shane Kilfoyle, and RB Aiden Lal. Lal also had a TD Run of 36 Yds on the night. Hudson will look to rebound in week 8 as they travel to North Royalton.
