Strongsville, OH– The Avon Eagles advanced to the Division II Region 6 Finals after defeating #6 seed and Southwestern Conference rival Olmsted falls 49-21. The Eagles seized control of the game early in the second quarter and never allowed the Bulldogs to get within striking distance thanks in large part to two key fourth down stops in the second half. Avon was led by RBs Jakorian Caffey and Gavin Ehrhardt each scoring two rushing TDs on the night. Avon QB Sam Detillio would also chip in a rushing TD as well as two touchdown passes to WR Drew Lindsey.
Olmsted Falls finishes the season 10-3 and were led by QB Charlie Ciolek who had three TD passes on the night, one to WR Sean Hollenbeck and two to WR Gavin Moore.
The Eagles now move on to the Division II Region 6 Finals to face Toledo Central Catholic who narrowly defeated #1 seed Highland in their semi final matchup
