Week 3: Olmsted Falls vs North Olmsted

The feeling of fall was in the air as the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs traveled to North Olmsted to take on the Eagles for their final match up as Southwestern Conference rivals. The Eagles will be joining the Great Lakes Conference next year. The Bulldogs wasted no time establishing their run game. On the first drive of the game, they marched down the field to the goal line where Jack Pincheck scored on a one yard run. After forcing the Eagles to punt, the Bulldogs scored on their next drive. Clay Vormelker rumbled his way into the endzone from 12 yards out. After the extra point, the the Bulldogs were up 14-0 with 2:10 left in the first quarter.

The Eagles first score of the game just 20 seconds later as QB Anthony Guercio took it to the house from 68 yards out cutting the Bulldog lead to 14-7 at the end of the first.

The Bulldogs began to take control of the game to begin the second quarter. Just seconds in, Michael Candow scored on a 12 yard run. The Bulldog defense forced and recovered an Eagle fumble. Shortly after, Ryan Feskanich blasted through for a 32 yard touchdown run making the score 28-7 in favor of Olmsted Falls. The scoring would continue for the Bulldogs as Andrew Parkowski would run in a touchdown from the goal line. That increased the Bulldog lead to 35-7. The Eagles had an excellent opportunity to add points to the scoreboard before halftime as they drove down deep into Bulldog territory, however they could not convert on fourth down.

North Olmsted came out of the locker to start the second half a different team. Anthony Guercio hit Eric Wasen on a pass and he took it 67 yards for the touchdown. The Eagles then attempted and recover an onside kick. On the next play Guercio hit Jared Kelley and he took it into the end zone from 56 yards to make the score 35-21 with 10:39 on the clock in the third quarter. The two teams exchanged interceptions later in the third. Parkowski scored his second touchdown of the game at the 4:22 for the Bulldogs to make the score 42-21. The Bulldogs would add another score late in the third as Ryan Feskanich caught a Charlie Ciolok for the 39 yard touchdown.

In the fourth, Michael Candow would rush for a one yard touchdown making the score 56-21 Bulldogs. The final score of the game came from Anthony Cuercio. He scored on a 11 yard run, his second rushing score of the game. Final score in this game was 56-27 in favor of Olmsted Falls. The Bulldogs improve to 2-1 and travel to North Ridgeville to take on the Rangers. North Olmsted drops to 1-1 and travel to Avon for the battle of the Eagles.
