Game Recap
By: Jim Eppele- Westlake Athletics
Competing today without their anchor Andrew Bodi, Westlake Boys Varsity managed to squeak by a talented and well-coached Padua team with an inspired performance. After two regular games, the Demons held a scant one pin lead which evaporated in the first Baker game taken by the Bruins 178-136. Now facing a 41 pin deficit, the boys caught fire, putting together baker games of 241, 213 and 235 to take home the victory.
The Demons were lead by seniors Nick Mayle (371), Kevin Mayle (364) and Vinny Corrado (347). Senior Tristan Braatz and junior Paul Rossander stepped it up in the last three Baker games to complete the amazing comeback.
Westlake improves to 4-1 at the halfway point of the season, and now holds sole possession of first place in GCIBL Division 1. Next week they take on Garfield Heights at Buckeye Lanes and tomorrow will compete in the Bruin Classic tournament at Yorktown Lanes.
