Fairview Park, OH- A hot and humid night led us to Week 2 of the high school football season. For our featured game we traveled to Fairview High School where the visiting Parma Redmen took on the Warriors of Fairview. This was a tough physical game that led to cramping, penalties, turnovers, with some nice defense and offense involved to.
Fairview struck first with a long touchdown run by running back Zach Wilson. The Warriors went for two and got the two point conversion to go up to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. Unfortunately for the Warriors they couldn’t score the rest of the game. Fairview had two turnovers on punt returns that luckily didn’t hurt them. It did however take their offense back off of the field. Parma went on a 13-0 run the rest of the way. Parma was led by two quarterbacks Keanu Krall and Nick Bonus who kept the Fairview defense off balance. Parma running back Cam Yon was able to punch it in twice from short distance to be the difference.
Parma wins 13-8 to get out to a 2-0 start. The last time the Redmen started 2-0 was back in 2010. Next week Parma takes on West Geauga (1-1). Fairview falls to 0-2 and will travel to Lakewood (2-0).
