Elyria OH- A Week 7 matchup that featured two teams from the Southwestern Conference. The North Ridgeville Rangers have played well and come into this game with a 3-3 overall record and the Pioneers of Elyria also come in with a 3-3 overall record and looking for their first win in the SWC.
In the first quarter the Pioneers would strike first with a 10 yard touchdown pass from Elyria QB Desmond Whitfield to WR Jaden Gilbert. The XP was no good and the Pioneers led 6-0 in the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter Elyria would pound their running game, as RB Lance Glover would score from 8 yards out. They went for two and got it to extend the lead to 14-0. Still in the second quarter it was the dynamic duo of Elyria QB Desmond Whitfield connecting with WR Andrew Palos from 57 yards. They went for the two point conversion and got it . The score at halftime was 22-0.
The Pioneers would score once more in the second half en route to a 30-0 winner over the Rangers. Give credit to the Pioneers defense who shut out North Ridgeville. They forced a few turnovers and stopped the Rangers on some nice drives inside the red zone that led to no points. Elyria gets their first SWC win and get back to their winning ways. North Ridgeville looks to regroup and get back on track.
Elyria with the win improves to 4-3 (1-3) as they face Avon Lake in Week 8. North Ridgeville falls to 3-4 (1-3) and will travel to Midview next.
